Another car thread - Which would you go for?

Hi All,

Sorry for another car thread but I've now narrowed my choices down to 4 cars, well 3 with 1 outsider. Which out of the 4 cars would you go for? I want this car for its longevity, reliability and panache.

2005 Volvo V50 1.8, 47k - £5395
2004 Honda Accord Tourer 2.0, 48k - £5495
2005 Toyota Avensis Tourer 1.8, 47k - £6480
2008 Ford Mondeo Zetec Estate 1.6, 65k - £6595 (this is the rank outside as its dearer than the rest, doesn't fit the panache requirement much and doesn't have climate control but air conditioning only).

So which would you go for then?

I bought my 54 plate Avensis (hatchback) last november for £5k with 45k miles. It's the top of the range T4 too and was in good condition and from a dealer, so that Avensis looks too expensive to me.

Just buy a car FFS we will have exactly the same thread from you next year. All the cars are bland and boring so pick one in the nicest colour and be done with it.

In which case I'd reccomend nothing because nothing will be good enough to meet your high expectations.

In the end 'stylish' surely should be what you think looks best?

Personally, I don't associate any of those with 'style' particularly.

Not sure I'd consider a BMW or Audi stylish either - more functional German sophistication.

Definitely Volvo. They just make nice cars. Seem to put more work into their product line that others. Saying that though Honda have upped their game.

None of your choices at all say that to me.
The Alfa wasn't actually a serious suggestion, but is the only Estate I can think of that meets that thought styling wise. I thought these days they did often use shared and fairly 'reliable'' components so not too bad?

Plenty of estates have the desired difference as far as performance goes, but not really on the styling side. Ie, the German companies do offer some cars with real 'spark'; but that's from behind the wheel while embaressing a Focus RS coming out of a roundabout, rather than looking at it in the car park.

Mondeo for me, good drive, great interior, good fit and finish. Nice car IMHO and I think it looks great.

BTW, not all German car drivers are cocks , they just appreciate a good balanced chassis, RWD and nice grunty engine. And yes, I have found my indicators and try to use them on a regular basis .
