Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Its a well known fact that not all pedophiles are moped riders, but all moped riders are pedophiles.

BCF has some messed up members Confused

Al - You have a Scooter and a FZ, how oftern you use the scooter then compered to the bigger bike? Just a random question......

What is it with members calling maxi-scooters or scooters a moped even tho its not a 50cc? at end of day if it has 2 wheels and a seat and a handle bar and a engine, its a motorbike.

I use the Vespa most days throughout the year to commute on and for general running about.
The FZR I just use for pleasure really, I use it all year round, I took it out yesterday actually (sorry no snow photos, its all cleared here) but mainly just in good weather for rideouts, trackdays ect.
Think the Vespa as done about 5000miles this year and the FZR about 2000miles.
I have an old Volvo 440 as well but it rarely leaves the driveway. Smile

Its sounds like a lot but the Vespa pays for itself really in fuel savings, and all three would have a combined value of under £1500 so its not really worth selling any of them.

Even tho my bike is called a Piaggio X9 its full name is Vespa-Piaggio X9. Dont know why back in 2001 when they made it, they just didnt call it Vespa X9 125.

I thought you'd got rid of that oversized shed, bought a CG, and planned to get your test done in Summer?

It's a scooter, not a motorcycle.

Good effort with the snow though: I can't be bothered with it.

Good for you - you're awesome. Thumbs Up

Nor do I own a car. But I draw the line at snow and ice when even the main roads aren't clear after 7 days without snow falling. But then I probably wouldn't give a shit if I had a worthless scooter that I could afford to trash. -10 daytime temperatures hardly make for worthwhile biking either.

As for the X9, it's tremendously homosexual. And I'd be amazed if that thing is measurably quicker than a decent CG. More likely that it has a blindly optimistic speedo.

This is probably your perfect 'motorised 2 wheeler':

This old chestnut Very Happy

I know it's Christmas, but since I'm at work, I'm quite happy to engage in a silly internet argument.

Dictionary.com:
Quote:
scoot·er1
[skoo-ter] Show IPA
–noun
1.
a child's vehicle that typically has two wheels with a low footboard between them, is steered by a handlebar, and is propelled by pushing one foot against the ground while resting the other on the footboard.
2.
Also called motor scooter. a similar but larger and heavier vehicle for adults, having a saddlelike seat mounted on the footboard and being propelled by a motor.

A motorcycle is a bicycle with an engine. A motorised scooter is a scooter with an engine. A childs scooter is not a bicycle. Similarly, a 'motor' scooter is not a motorcycle.

Dictionary definitions aside, what's important (and what truly determins meaning), is what is, in reality, widely understood by these words. And you're definitely in the minority.

https://i512.photobucket.com/albums/t321/Furyous84/ebay.png

If a scooter were widely considered to be a motorcycle, there would be no need for the ebay Category title to specify Motorcycles & Scooters, it would just be 'Motorcycles', within which 'Scooters' would be a sub-category.

I see lots of those scooters over here, the young girls use them to get to school. Anyone who thinks they are proper bikes needs their heads examining.

You're my hero!

I love it when KIDS turn 17, get a 125 and start ripping on the 50cc guys.

Know what i hate?
When i'm trying to get to work on my VEPSA T5, or one of my CBR's
and some fat cnut on a big scooter is too stupid to filter, or his shitty scooter is too wide to filter with.

There, have my xmas hate you son-o-bitch.

You ride a 125 four stroke scooter. Can you really call yourself a biker? Or your vehicle a bike?
