Got flagged down by police earlier near to my house, was travelling at 49mph on his radar gun.

There was an army of them in a British legion car park, apparently thee were doing a drink driving roadblock, I blew a zero, and the copper said I was only to be 'educated' as I had 6 points for sp30 already and was not mouthy as an individual had been earlier on.
I have been given a leaflet about speeding and drink driving, and no points or fine. If I am found speeding again within 12 months In surrey then I can't have another leaflet, just points and fine like I have had in the past fro police.

Has anyone else here been extended this delicious let off? I thought I had points coming up for sure, and as far as I knew education was an awareness course you had to pay for, not a leaflet and some pictures of crashes.

Laughing thats pretty good going, im guessing the fact you even managed 130 suggest the speed limit didn't fit the road?

I'm going back a few years here but....

0-100mph pullaway on the A13 from the Beckton Alp lights (50 limit in those days), he let me go.

80mph on the Aspen Way (40 limit), he let me go.

36 in a 30 in East Ham, bloody nicked, but they mucked up the process and I got away with that one.

Stopped with my trail riding mates for a random spot check on the Cat and Fiddle, I had smashed both rear indicators off, just a few wires dangling. The rozzer with the clipboard laid it on my rear seat whilst telling my mate off about his small numberplate, totally covering my damage. My mate got a fine.

Traffic cop caught up with me and said I was doing over 100 mph, I denied it. We eventually agreed on 85 mph. 3 points and a £60 fine.

Although I was going over 100 mph until I spotted him in the mirror. I never used the brake, just eased off the throttle Wink

I'd have thought very carefully about just opening it up.

Luckily, not a single cop has looked at me in the car or on the bike!

They were parked up behind a waggon in a layby, after I went past I seen them pull out and come after me. So I eased the speed down. By the time they caught up with me I was stopped at a junction. I could have went to court, but I know I was speeding and so I accepted the fixed penalty. Thumbs Up

There was no other traffic on the road, he could not have proven my speed, so In hindsight I could have went to court. but his word against mine. I doubt it would have come out in my favour.

edit: By the way it was an A road so the limit was 60.

I take it very easy in the car, im a big red open target in regards to police.

The bike, sensible to an extent, occasional overtakes at 100+ but nothing silly

Me and Joe and a couple of the other chaps from here were doing a 100+ up the Boxhill carriageway when we were ambushed by two cozzers on bikes. The road was empty, two lanes, we weren't being silly, but one of the pigs was almost apoplectic with rage and asked us to tell him why we were "riding like cnuts". It was on a rally day and they let us off, but only because "we have other things we need to be doing right now." They told us to stay put for an hour or they'd confiscate our bikes. Weird fuckers. Laughing

I've only been done for speeding once in the UK, for blasting past a do in Brighton where Prince Andrew was opening some dump. The copper was most bemused that I'd managed to not spot "A few hundred cops, bikes and cars." I was concentrating on carving through the traffic at 100+.

Pah. I got stopped by God for doing infinity past an angel academy (the angels were creaming) but I was like "Where am I supposed to go fast?" So he created the universe for me and said "Do it there, no angels."

But then man had to go and invent kittens and I'm back to square one. Rolling Eyes

A few years ago I was pulled over in the Eynsham layby on the A40 in a car.
As I was leaving there was a car in the distance approching me rapidly. I was speeding and he came right up my arse.
So I thought, hes game, and stuck my foot down a bit more.
Got up to about 130 on the dual carriageway and the blue light came on.
He asked how fast I thought I was going

"70-75" I replied

"I was doing over 100 and you were pulling away from me", he said

Let me off with a warning
