After our little drag racing episode, 0-60 times means nothing, it's all down to the rider...Strictly speaking a VFR should be quicker than a CBR..... Well, well well, I think V and i proved that wrong eh Stew?? Wink

All our drag racing proved was that a 400cc bike with an 8 stone rider goes faster than a 400cc bike with a 14stone rider Sad (in a straight line)

But yes Anna, you n V did beat me n Dean no probs..............not taking anything away from you at all!

Bring on a trackday!!

0-60 depends fully on the driver, havin raced 3 nsr's a lot i know this
after 60 the rs is quite a bit quicker and will easily pass nsr after 80
the difference is minimal really at the end of the day unless you bury it for a good long road
nsr picks up easier and off a non buried start will be ahead of rs usually

Stew: sorry, but you're bike has enough power to lift the front, therefore you will have an advantage because you can use more of the power without lifting the front.

Anna: sorry (again), AFAIK a cbr should be quicker to 60 because they are lower geared.

/me thinks we should all go to a trackday to sort it out Very Happy

I disagree G. Maybe on a bigger bike that would work but on a 400 which pretty much won't lift on the throttle the extra weight only serves to slow you down. That was proven when Stew rode the CBR and still got a slower time.

But the 400 *will* lift the front with cutch... so the amount of power getting needs to be 'controlled' with the clutch (errrr... yes, the clutch Confused)... Once you're going faster it will make a difference but the initial start, which AFAIK is the most important bit, keeping the front wheel down *should* be the major concern.
