I think they are illegal on certain aged vehicles.

Years ago I was out with a work colleague going to a call we had to do, we were driving along and these two lovely looking girls were walking down the pavement. He reached down to the right of his steering column and pulled out a microphone and said, "alright girls", this came blasting out from under his bonnet through a loud speaker! I p1ssed myself!!!!!!!! It had ambulance, police and firebrigade sounds as well. I remember these things on my bicycle as a kid.

He said that was illegal and he had it imported.

Sad, but amusing...
