Anyone willing to buy a Sym Jet with blown piston rings?

20p ono

Full service history ( If you gimme some time to make it up)

2 new front wheels due to rust!

new back wheel due to rust

new exhaust due to rust

Already had a rebore when the bearings wore out, now requires another!!!

Sub rant, SAVA tires last two minutes under normal wear and tear!
Wonder why and I quote from the log book! "Sym recommends that you only buy SAVA Tires and MORRIS lubricants for your motorcycle" to everyone???

New set of reed valves

Countless bulbs

new starter motor

front fork legs "New"

new stand, the first ones pin fell out causing the stand to fall off

Two sets of speedo drives
+ 4 speedo cables

Throttle cable!

I own a 1967 Vespa GS

1 set of new tires and a brake cable

I also own a VW Polo (2002) 1 year younger than Sym Jet here is what I had to do to that

Replace the oil

Clean at car wash

I drive Trains for a living, the oldest ones are knocking on 40 years old and done 1.5 million miles each on average yet they don't need a major overhaul every 500 miles!

I bought the bike to save money travelling to work
Its cost me more than my car was to buy new!
In short Do not purchase a SYM motor cycle because they suck!
Stick to old ones like the Vespa because they never go wrong.

***RANT ENDS***

Anything mechanical will break if not maintained correctly. Fair enough most 50cc's need more done on them than most other internal combustion engines, but if you look after them then it won't break on you. Thumbs Up

Laughing Laughing

Didn't you take notice after it needed replacing once that it was prone to rust and is better kept away from dampness?

Needing to replace stuff like tyres is prefectly normal, and they're called tyres not tires 9well, unless you happen to live on the other side of the pond)

What did you do to it to make it wear out so many bits? Keep it underwater in salt water and then take it out and rev the thing to death from cold?

Burn it.

Video it.

Entertain us.

Sounds like a complete shit heap. Though I watch with amusement as a friend's LML Star Deluxe (Indian Vespa knock off) gradually dissolves after a month of use...

I'd rather bin the NSR into a lamp-post than bin the NSR and suffer the ignominy of having to ride a vespa until I got a new bike. Horrible little things, can't bloody stand them Evil or Very Mad .

I own a Vespa GS and a VW polo as before mentioned, the Sym is blowing up every ten bloody minutes,
Its restricted still and does a mere 35 (when operational but it seems that I am spending more time pushing it home than it is pushing me!

Polo 1.2 does 100+ flat out no problems

Vespa knocking on 37 years old, very few problems at all
(needss decoking every so often)

Burn it.

Knowing my luck it'll be burn proof, or it'll explode before I can get far enough away!

Video it.

Can't get no insurance for it if there is evidence of me personally torching it all over the interweb

Entertain us.

I'll try my best!
