New leathers, any advice?

After spending the last 2 years riding in textiles due to cost, "Father Christmas" has brought me a new set of leathers.

I've had a read around, and it seems people keep them clean using either some sort of wipe or saddle soap - which is fine.
But where the F do people keep the leathers while not in use?

My textiles were just hung on a normal hanger in a cupboard, but my leathers weigh a tonne and have been through a couple of hangers already - and will soon have the screw out of the wall (that I put in to hang them on, as no rail seems strong enough).

Plus, any other general advice for keeping them in good nick, and what do you guys do about the lack of pockets?

my leathers hang in my wardrobe on the enormous chunky hangers they came on, i got a little tube of leather cleaner from halfords, cant remember what the make is but its good stuff, use that every now any then. job done

granted my wardrobe doesnt quieeeeet shut properly due to the size of my leathers but non the less

I broke a few normal coat hangers with my 1 piece suit, just called in local bike shop and got a proper strong one of them for free
I just hang them on side of my wardrobe, as for cleaning i just use normal leather wipes same as used on leather sofa, does the job

I got them off the interweb, and they didn't come with a hanger. I'll have to go and talk nice to the local bike shops to see if they will donate me one.

hows about a mega hanger? get three robust hangers and tape them together in a megatron style?

My Daineses are under my bed gathering dust,been there 2 years,just haven't got round to chucking them,

My jacket gets worn more than my trousers. Jacket lives in the hallway on a hook with the rest of the coats. Trousers are kind of folded in half and thrown in the wardrobe until summer.

I've made a special rail for all my bike gear - it is from the side of the wardobe to the wall and only about 500mm long, so that even when full, it's not too heavy. I made a shelf above it that takes two lids and there is space below for my boots, gloves etc. so that it's all tidy (I'm a little bit of a tidy freak! ). Before I had the rail, I used one of those over the back of the door hooks, as it was the only thing strong enough.

The place I bought my leathers always let me have new hangers if the old ones break and are quite happy to get rid of them! As for cleaning my leathers; I find that wet wipes are good for removing bugs and those leather wipes are good to make sure the leather stays ok. I tend to do it all immediately I get home so that it doesn't all get baked/dried on too badly!
