 |
|
After Danny had the crash at Cadwell on his Thundercat it has been leaking oil, and there has been oil noticable on the right hand side of the bike around the footpeg and exhaust.
None of the parts wore through, and there wasn't any oil leaking noticably after the crash, but it is leaking oil (not much really, but it is leaking some) after the crash and wasn't before.
After looking around it and trying to work out where it could be coming from, only place left that it could be coming from we think is from the engine cover that is damaged, as shown in the photo. Is it called a crankcase cover? Just need to be sute, so that Danny doesn't order the wrong part in error. We did attach something under the overflow tubes so that if it was coming from there it would be caught and would know it came from there, but not a drop in the bag under them. Anyone got any ideas as to any possible suggestions as to where the oil could be leaking from? Also can someone confirm or correct that the damaged part is called the crank case cover.
Few photos of it:
This shows the damage as it was at Cadwell right after the crash. Since then, the footpeg has been replaced, the R&G mushroom and it's bolt have been replaced.
This one shows the area where there is oil on from the oil leak, you can see it on the exhaust and on the footpeg area.
The engine cover bit which was damaged in the crash and which Danny and I think must be where the oil is leaking from.
Shows underneath the crankcase cover, and you can see there is some oil there, which does suggest more than the oil is leaking form the damage cover. |

The hammer in the first picture is far too small, consider yourselves told off! |
