steering lock on NS125R

The steering lock on my mates NS125R doesn't seem to work. The key just wont turn at all. Might it have seized having never been used? (I pointed out to him last night that he actually has one!) Would some WD40 do the job or is it more complicated?

Yes, did try turning it and pushing all the way to the left (I discovered this after trying for about 5 minutes on my own bike Rolling Eyes

)

The key doesn't move at all when you push it in. On mine, it wil trun slightly even if the bars are not quite round far enough. I'll have a go with the WD40.

Hi

Sometimes the bars need to be slightly off full lock for the steering lock to work.

I would be tempted to take the top yoke off (with the ignition switch still attached) and see if the lock work when it is away from the frame.

Yeah, check the lock last time this happened to me someone had unsucsessfully attempted to screwdriver the lock and had broke my steering lock.
