Hi there,

having some problems with piaggio zip scooter.

Im trying to get it running again after it been in storage.

When i put battery in and turn ignition to on nothing happens,

The battery will not charge and when i check the 12v battery with a voltmeter it gives me 7volts.

Im not sure if the best thing would be to try a new battery of if the problem could be somewhere else?

cant find a piaggio manual to help me out at the moment

thanks

basically my brother in law had the scooter at a pals to try and get it up and running but they never done it any good.

Now im trying to get the bike together and trying to figure exactly what connects to what as a lot of the plugs were not connected so its hard when dont have battery,

how would i go about getting it running without batter?

sorry for lack of knowledge but dont know a lot about scooters at the moment

make sure everythings connected check your oil and the usual stuff and turn the ignition all the way as far as it can go and keep kicking the kickstart opening the throttle the same time it should fire up as long as everythings connected and the keys turned all the way even if it has a flat battery it should still start mate

If anyone can help once again,

~Tried the dead battery in the scooter and tried the kick start,

the best i can get is when i try kick starting the fuel light comes on then goes out.

anyone know if this would be down to not having enough fuel to start or if there is still something else?

was going to add some more fuel tomorrow and try again

thanks again

Just put some fresh petrol in it and keep kicking, it should go eventually.

We've got a Zip 50 at work, that we only use in decent weather, so we go through this ritual every year; always goes in the end, despite having absolutely nothing in the battery.
