Yea It'll be like the other Police Fireblade's and just be used for public relations tasks etc. The only ones they can use (I believe) in chases etc are their big touring bikes with lights/siren...

That's right. The Chief Constable of Durham is TOTALLY AGAINST speed cameras. I would rather be pulled over by someone who understands why I ride a bike than be flashed by a machine that reads speed and doesn't make judgements about how safe I was being. Their Bikewise event is well worth a visit because at least they are promoting REAL safety.

They just have one, donated to them by Lamborghini basically as a PR stunt.

All the best

/me moves to durham

Honda gave it to them for free! I doubt that they will use it for chasing people!

No cameras, police that would rather talk to you than arrest you...

I'm there! Cool

Don't North Yorks police, or at least the ones around Leeds, have an unmarked version of this? Rolling Eyes

Apparently the Derbyshire Police have an unmarked fireblade, I don't think the North Yorkshire Force have one though.

Yeah, they have a helicopter in Durham too.

Aberdeenshire police used to have a Lotus Carleton (which is a bloody fast car even by todays standards) as I remember one early fireblade owner found this to his cost when it passed him doing about 160mph and pulled him over Evil or Very Mad

On the B1257 theres a red R6 police informant who will radio back to inform officers waiting in Chop Gate to pull people over. There has also being talks about this bike etc, some officers say its only for catching bikes, which even though they don't act like it, say its unfair as its not much use going after cars as the other bikes already have this covered.

Could also just be a publicity stunt, i mean how you going to get all the much needed equipment on it, and if its like the 4 other brand new blades round here they will end up written off within a few days... Very Happy
