A friend and I were discussing abortion this evening - myself and him both being pro abortion - I was wondering what BCF's thoughts on this are. I think it would make an interesting discussion. My personal thought on the matter is, if it isn't the right time (for whatever reason) for you and your partner / one night stand / whatever you want to call the girl you got pregnant then I find it acceptable (hope that makes sense, had a pint or 2 this evening). What are your views...

yes, i am all for it. a child is sometimes brought into this world for all the wrong reasons and suffers for it. if abortion is done early (within the first 2 months maximum) when the embryo isn't developed into anything baby like then i see no problem with it at all medically, morally i cannot see an issue either. as the Americans say i am 'pro choice'

say you're in a relation ship, using the pill and condoms and you get pregnant but it just isn't the right time, your too young or financially unstable, you should have that option to abort.

religion seems to be the only major stumbling block for such a thing. shame really, it gets in the way of progress a lot.

It's legalised murder, especially late term abortion, but I'm still for it.

However the girls who end up doing it often as a form of contraception should be given implant contraception. Which I believe does happen.

It's the woman's body and hers to do with as she pleases, and that includes anything still inside it. Yes, it would be rough to see a baby terminated one hour before it was born but that would be between the mother and the baby, nobody elses business.

Devalues life completely IMO. These days in the US more black babies are aborted than born. I find that sickening and each day I worry more about the spiritual direction Western civilisation is headed.
