Looking for a new tent

Right I need help choosing a tent for my trip up to the Lake distict in march. I have looked around for a while for a new tent after my sister managed to loose my very good 3 man tent and I cant seem to find the same one But cant seem to see any I like or have what im looking for in a tent, so am looking for your recommendations.

What im looking for mainly is it needs to be 2-3 men, lightish (around 4-5kgs), compact and easy to put up and take down, also not take to much room on the bike, and around £70.

I can recommend the vango tunnel type tents. No I'm not being payed by them. I've used vango tents for a long time and they are a known quantiuty to me. I'd have to be very convinced to buy another make.

The full-on "force 10" 4-season ones are pricey bracket but they do a cheaper version (with GRP rather than alloy poles).

My ultimate motorcycle-portable 2-man tent is still the spirit 200+. It fits in an oxford sports pannier. The sleeping area sleeps 2 people (but just that, no other kit) and there is the same again in porch space. I've had one up in a true force 10 wind on Shetland and it didn't move an inch while other tents were flying round the campsite like kites. They are pricey though (around the £200 mark). (43x15cm pack size, 2.9kg)

For a cheaper 2-man, the Banshee 300 would do the trick. I spent all summer in a banshee200 which in reality sleeps 1 and not much else but it is super lightweight, super small and very quick to errect. Realistically, you'd need the 300 for 2-men, not much storage space though. (46x14cm pack size, 2.6kg)

Cheaper end 3-man, the Beta 350 is not bad and fine for summer in the lake district. Again, has the advantage of the seperate sleeping area and an enormous porch (you can sit in this one in a chair) It's bigger and heavier but still pretty roomy with a large porch. My brother has this tent. (65x19, 6.5kg)

Stretch your budget to £100 and you could get the omega 350 which is the same size as the Beta but a much higher spec, smaller, lighter and with alloy poles. Couple of mates have these, they are very good tents and stand up well to rough weather. (48x19cm, 5kg)

i have just ordered a vango banshee200 its small enough for my bike luggage but big enough for me and my leathers and if need be a friendly friend but the vango banshee 300 should give you plenty of room as has three porches.

I must have had half-a-dozen tents, currently got a Khyam 'Biker' tent with (very) necessary 'undersheet'. Not cheap, about £150 new but come on Fleabay now and then. Definitely the best I've had.

This is 1 I got a few years ago... Had to bungee everything on the back seat and a dispatch bag...

This year I bolted the GIVI rack to the back seat..

The tent was shit.. kept on falling down..

A vote for the Beta 350 Vango here. Huge tent, acres of space for me, Mrs V and all our luggage. Takes about 5 minutes to erect and 10 to take down even in high winds.

I have the Vango Icarus 600. Just right for me. iIknow it is big, but it is ok for a few of us to use. just share the rest of the equipment around the other bikes.

I like my Slumit Gobi III.

It goes up really quickly and comes down really quickly... really easy too... Holds up to weather well, good enough porch and loads of room inside.. only downside is the pack size is quite large. If you're solo touring on a reasonable sized bike its not really a problem, especially if you have panniers as its no wider than the panniers... I'm going to do some 2 up touring this year and I have a smaller bike now so I'm not 100% convinced I'm gonna fit this on.. however it'll still be my tent of choice for solo touring!
