Alright lads, my son as a peugeuot speedfighter scooter, recently it has played up he rode it for about a mile and then it cut out, later that night it started ok, and same again after about a mile it cut out plenty of petrol and oil he tells me it lost power and came to stop but all electrics were working.

Here's some advice....DON'T BUY A SPEEDFIGHT.
They're a bloody chav ped that get thrashed by their owners.
I'm not surprised your son's ped has stopped working Laughing
Buy for reliability, not looks

When you say cut out, do you mean the engine just stopped, was it gradual or sudden? Was the electrics still working / ignition and lights?

The more info you can provide the better. As at the moment it could be numerous possibilities.

Very helpful Thumbs Up

Sounds like a fuelling issue to me if it's cutting out at roughly the same intervals. Check the fuel tank to see if any of the vent holes / tubes are blocked. It should also have a fuel filter on it, check that the filter is clean and allowing a good flow of fuel through. It would also be a good idea to clean the carb out.

It could also be an electrical component breaking down when the engine is up to temp eg the plug or the HT lead and coil.

I would go for the cheap things first ie check tank and filter and clean the carb. For the price of a new fuel filter and plug it's not worth not changing them.

Has it has any tuning done like a sports pipe etc
