I thought gosshawk, but i seem to be outnumbered on that one.
Last time i had a BBQ on the beach we had a red kite hovering overhead the whole time hoping for scraps. Tamest bird of prey i've ever seen, also i nearly hit one in the car one day, no wonder they're endangered
Speaking of animals today i had a squirrel climb half way through my window. It noticed me and shat itself (don't blame it), but didn't run far. God damn it was cute.

If i get my own place i'd seriously think about getting one. |

Oh dear, video still works for me, but maybe it's in my cache. It was of someones pet squirrel that thought it was one of their cats, so lots of shots of the squirrel and cats play fighting. Squirrel going MENTAL trying to figure out how to open a tub of peanut butter / steal doritos... dammit i want one!

I'd love to be able to put out bird feeders in my garden but between the cats and the sparrowhawks, I've got no chance.
Feeders tucked away means the cats are the main threat, if I put the feeders in the open, as suggested, I know full well the sparrowhawk will pick them off. I regularly have sparrowhawks in the garden and doing awesome fly pasts - seems they don't worry about the cats!
The other thing I have very close to the garden are Buzzards - they obviously had a nest this year as the numbers went from a pair to 5 with all the squawky stuff that goes along with baby birds!
Library image of a buzzard - they are really quite big when you see 'em close up!

............and talking of squawking there is a single owl that seems to lurk very close to the place at night. We think it's a Barn Owl as one has been spotted in the lane. I'm not very good at knowing the noises, but I do know it's a single one as it's all 'twit' and no 'twoo' ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

It must have been one of the kinds of small hawk species. They looked interesting in personal though but they are very elusive to get close. In fact, I wanted to have one of them if I could get any chances as well. ____________________ Super Bowl Commercials 2011 birds |

There's buzzards in the woods around where I work, often see them soaring and circling in the summer. Quite an awesome sight, and yes, they look huge, even from a distance. Bizarre to think that these birds are living quite close to large conurbations... ____________________ Responsibility. It's a difficult reality for some. A thread resurrection this may be, but god damn those are some beutiful pictures of squirrels there .
I've always wanted one as a pet, I mean they're basically just rats with fuzzy tails and badass climbing abilities. One day I shall have one as a pet, but for now I sometimes find myself staring out my window onto our greenery for like 15 minutes just watching the little critters. There were about 7 or 8 of them scurrying about, I think it's the way they bounce along with their tails in a wavy fashion that I find so hypnotic.
