I just bought an item from ebay for £30 plus £2.99 postage, the seller ordered the item to me from amazon, it said next day in his listing, it took 3.

I ordered from him specifically to get the item fast, as amazon were cheaper but take 3 days to deliver anything from Jersey. and this cowboy uses amazon at the cheaper price and pays no postage! I gave him £2.99 postage!

Should I admit recieving it and get my money, or should I never get it?

Not sure which route is easier, I've never not recieved and item before, or disputed one for that matter.

Although it's only £2.99, if I'm reading it right then the guy's been deliberately dishonest and screwed you out of that money. £30 quid extra for every ten sales he makes, isn't a bad little earner for him.

Based on the fact that he's been deliberately dishonest, then I would fight fire with fire and email him asking where my item was. If he doesn't refund the full cost then raise a dispute. I wouldn't normally advocate stuff like that as it's hard enough for legitimate small businesses on ebay at the moment without people lying and saying they haven't received goods, but this guy's a crook so balls to him Thumbs Up

Amazon were selling it for £18, I knew this before I bought from him for because I needed it fast, amazon could only guarantee me 3 days.

I actually lost £12 and my time to this.

If you had to sign for the item then take it as a lesson learnt and report the seller to ebay.

If you didnt have to sign for it. What item? Wink

This. The seller would know full well that you wouldn't get it next day, yet advertised next day delivery, thus wasting the seller's time (and in this case money). It's blatant false advertising.

I got banned once for having something to the effect of "Please call us first to check the item is physically in stock as stock levels change daily" on all my adverts. I put that in the listings to avoid wasting people's time or disappointing customers if it needed ordering in, yet eBay said it is against "The Rules" to list something that you don't physically have in stock. They couldn't quite grasp that I couldn't go through 3000+ listings every day to check them against stock levels Rolling Eyes . Difference is, I could order anything in next day, or ship directly from the supplier for next day delivery.

If you paid for next day delivery that means the sender would have had to use some kind of tracked postage, if it didn;t require a signature he didn;t send it next day therefore you can deny it ever arrived, might teach him a lesson.

should have just opened an Amazon Prime account and used the "free" next day service, probably what he did.

Prime is free as a trial for 30days always handy if you need something in a hurry.

had 2 trials now and still being offered another trial
