New Desktop again

Looking to get either of the above. Now budget, probably £500 max and i'm being picky, as i play alot of Flight Sim 2004 and it doesn't really make use of multiple processor cores, so i am looking for something with a clock speed of 3.0 Ghz +

Also, because i'm a bit short of cash it would probably have to be on a buy now, pay whenever they specify.

Its only other main uses apart from Flight Sim would be, for Itunes, internet and the usual office stuff.

Any ideas, been looking at Dells, but not sure what their like?

To be honest mate, for that kind of use, you could build a desktop yourself for less than £200, I would even look into second hand systems on ebay, single cores are obselete and go for peanuts, just budget in a new hard drive and you are away.

Be aware new hard drives (SATA) may not fit older (IDE) motherboards, I think the vast majority of motherboards that have single cores mounted on them will be the older IDE connection format.

If you are strapped for cash perhaps use a credit card?

Oh, if it's a single core you are after, get a Pentium 4, do NOT buy a machine with a Celeron in it, as they are toilet.

Sorry i have done my usual trick of not explaining properly, i currently have a single core amd jobby and want to upgrade my new comp.

Im after someting like a fast dual core i.e 3 ghz clock speed per core or if their is a quad core with that clock speed for cheap then gravy.

Just with FS2004 it doesn't use both cores but just the one, but obviously the othe one can be stopping windows from bottlenecking the comp while playing.
