We.ll as you know i have had 125's for far too long now, (7 years this year ) now its ideal as i don't commute a huge distance, 22 miles there and back and im getting good fuel economy. Now apart from a few little problems the Hyo is fine. Now i 'm insured on a gsr 600 which i am able to use as its my mums fells. Now i have a few financial problems which will be probably be cleared and debt free this time next year. now would it be better to wait just one more year and get debt free and maybe try and get a loan with or hp on a 2 year old bike? Or sell mine now and run the risk of getting a 10 year old shed?

If the 125 is ideal, then keep it and get yourself debt free.

Buy a Hayabusa on unsecured credit, then declare bankruptcy.

Why are you asking us? Just tell us what you're already decided, and we'll say "Cool choice, bro!"

I'd look into getting something like a CB250. Fuel economy will be near enough the same, the purchase price will be low as no one wants 250's as if they can ride one legally, they usually want something bigger and faster. A decent 125 would sell for good money as there as plenty of learners who want one, especially now that they've made the test that bit more of a pain in the ass.

so you want to get debt free, to get back into more debt, why is it people can't manage their finances and just not think things through properly, if you can't afford to buy it out right, and you have financial problems now, what makes you think you will be able to in a year with a poor credit rating, save your money and use YOUR money not someone elses money.

Yes but motorbikes i don't see as debts. I can.t afford ever to go out and spend over 2k on a car or motorbike paying in cash. Alot like not everyone can afford to spend 150k on a house. I will have paid my hyo off this year. So i want to maybe change it. my debts are a credit card which i am paying because i got ill in 09 and im paying charges off. But im thinking i ant my outgoings to be rent pay for bike, mobile and insurance.

Then your attitude for money will always be like that, and it is a poor attitude to have, if you think that a bike you are renting off a company isn't a debt.

Sorry but it doesn't take long to save that kind of money, and you pay a realistic price for the bike, as opposed to the bikes price plus credit on the bike with a poor credit rating will probably be around 18% upwards, and you're taking out HP which is also a stupid thing to do as if you miss a payment or two they will come and take the bike, get a personal loan instead.

Still a stupid attitude to have when it comes to money, an old friend of mine who died a few years back made a few million over his life, and that's cash not assets said the following, perhaps it is something you should take on board when thinking about money

"You can only spend a pound once, make sure you spend it wisely and don't waste it"

Thumbs Up

That is what I plan to do, it looks the perfect compromise, move up an insurance group, lose a few mpg, get a bit more speed to keep up with traffic on the motorway.

If your mums fella allows you to use his GSR 600 now and again and you have a viable 125, why stick with it for the time being?

That sounds like a great option and will allow you time to sort your debts out.

I`ve been doing some research (looking on fleece-pay) about 250`s and there are some VERY greedy people asking very stupid money for right old nails Sad .

agreed.
youve got a pretty perfect situation there! cant imagine why youd want to change it. youve got a perfectly suited commuter AND a 600 for the occassional ride out. a 250 wont really give you that much over a 125, especially something like a CB as far as Im aware, theyre just heavier with a few more BHP, not particularly worth the extra money. Stick with the 125 and enjoy the 600 when you have it.
if you went and bought a 600 now, after a few months the novelty could ware off, whereas this way you get cheap easy commuting, and you can scare yourself a little with a bigger bike now and again Wink

I think it probably is a better idea to wait till debts are paid and save up. yes the 125 may not be exciting but its mine and fully paid for nearly. And once i have finished my nurse training i will have a higher paid job and more disposable income.
