Happened to me the last week before christmas, going to work at 6 am. Work is only about 4 miles away, but when I got there I had a thick layer of ice on my visor, gloves, jacket and trousers. I thought it was bad enough negotiating snow bound roads, but getting covered in ice took the piss.
On a side note, one bloke at work said I was "the bravest biker he'd ever seen" for going to work in the snow on my bike. I just told him, as long as you don't drive like a dick, keep the bike upright and lay off the brakes it's not that bad.
It's the dickheads in the cars, travelling at normal speeds and braking heavily that make it more dangerous, especially when you have a frozen visor. ____________________ Yamaha MT-09
