A guy on the ZXR400 forums has posted pics of his stunning ZXR250.

https://www.bikechatforums.com/files/1_289.jpg

Then he posted pics showing his obsession with polishing.

Ive suggested getting clear plastic/perspex fairings. Its a sin to cover that up, it looks sweet.

How hard would it be to get a set of side panel?
Would it be worth getting a window cut in the panels an plonking a bit of perspex in there?

Cheers

Edit, fixed

All the attention to detail and the 2 green paint schemes don't match in a million years.

christ that's shiny... think i'll go clean mine now, i feel bad.

i woulda thought that acrylic would be far too brittle for a full fairing, it would shatter if a stone is kicked up or anything. they're usually made of fibreglass or abs i think as that's much tougher and will split (if anything) not shatter...

you could look down the route of using the windscreen material, would probs be some kinda reinforced acrylic which would be hella expensive... or polycarbonate, which is a bitch to make to those shapes Thumbs Up

plus they're gonna be difficult to clean the inside of the fairing, as there will be some road dust etc that'll kick up inside and stick to it... Smile

I'd want to cover that up not show it off. Ok, he's slapped a bit of paint on and polished a couple of covers but it's still a spaghetti junction of pipes and tatty bits.

At a bike show 3 years ago I saw a zxr400 L with polycarbonate clear fairings. Will dig out the pictures if I can find my scanner.

IIRC the guy made moulds of old fairings then used a vaccuum former to make the new ones.

Looked gash to be honest.

He should probably get rid of the surface rust on the exhaust pipes.

Im inclined to agree with that, looks a bit like a citroen saxo boyo has had his hands on it.

DONT tempt me I might give it a shot but I doubt it.

It will be covered in real carbon fibre as well as the front guard

and yes the exhaust is not finished as are quite a few little touchs that will be changed such as radiator hose's, pick up coil wiring, stick coils, exhaust system would love that in stainless if can get one cheap enough
