Well, went inside today after some good riding, in the kitchen and heard a crash.

Ran outside to find the bike had slid of it side stand and was on the deck. Embarassed.

Damage not too bad, clutch lever broken, slightly scratched fairing and crank cover/casing.

Anyone got an idea how much it'd cost to replace the lever & fairing?

Woops, well you'll probably not do that one again so it's a lesson learnt.

Lever you're looking at about £7-10 depending on what you get and who you buy it from. Fairing I wouldn't worry about replacing after just dropping it at 0mph, and the cost depends on what bike it is, would work out cheaper I would expect to have those ones repaired as it's just a couple of scratches on the surface nothing of any real significance to be repair. Thumbs Up

Lever shouldn't be more than a tenner. In stock at a local bike shop if you're lucky. What bike is it?

Wouldn't bother with the fairing for the mo... if it's just scratched you can always get a new one latter... don't want to do the same thing again to a new fairing Smile.

I can still use the clutch, still got about 80% of the lever there, i'd only just fitted some crash bungs on the machine.

It may be worth me keeping an eye on Ebay to see if someone is selling any fairings. (can only hope)

As G said, it's really not worth replacing the fairing if it's just a couple of scratches on it as it's not major and it could happen again quite easily and you'd be very pissed off if you managed to do the same thing after just buying a new fairing. What bike is it out of interest?

It's my mates Hayabusa i've been looking after. Hence the need to replace the fairing... bloody nice bike to ride.

Speak to your local Suzuki dealer but be prepared for a shock when he tells you the prices! Assuming your mate is fairly reasonable he won't want you to buy him new fairings, just give him a bit of cash or something. If you do need to get them fixed it'll be cheaper to get them repaired than it is to buy new fairings. Dropping when at a standstill really doesn't do much it's not even that noticeable really so don't worry too much about it. Dropping a bike is a risk of having one and asking someone to look after your bike for you also carries the same risk, it's not like you crashed it trying something daft or flipped it doing a wheelie or something like that. Speak to him about it, and I'm sure he'll be reasonable about it. Wouldn't spend too much time looking on eBay for a new one as most bikes have been dropped at some point in it's life and it might have some slight other marks somewhere which he'll ask you about when he gets it back off you and you'd have to try and explain them Laughing .

I've just phoned the owner of the bike, he told me not to worry, apparently the side stand was dodgy and it was better to use the center stand.

Thanks for the advice.
