Long distances on a sports bike

Any tips for doing long distances on a small capacity sports bike? Going from Grantham to chelmsford tomorrow and it's gonna be a tad achey...

I did 180 miles in a day on the TZR. It's not difficult.

120 miles, straight down the A1? That's a bimble, not a long distance. Couple of hours, tops.

Regularly do 200+ from my home to coleraine on a gsxr750.

Just take a rest stop if you need to, have a mars and a drink and you'll be grand.

Don't be afraid to pull over, if you think you want to pull in for a break, do it. (safely)

I used to do 180 odd miles to a girlfriends house stay a couple of days then ride back on an NSR125. Used to have a break for a fry up, petrol and a ciggie about halfway. Easy. Just keep warm.

Dude, if I can do Portchester (southcoast) to Brigg (North Lincs) in one stretch, and not using motorways all the way, on a unfaired sv650; you can easily do that piddly little distance without noticing!!!

When you ride along and you look at your hands and wonder who they belong to, that is your cue to stop and get your feeling back! Simple.

I'll hopefully be doing a 1000 mile in 24 hours type challenge in the summer on my 600, although I'll probably end up restoring the original gearing for that so it won't be quite as stupid, but It's still gunna hurt pretty bad!

Bit over 100 miles isn't much on a small bike. Couple of hours or so. And I have done far longer distances than that on small sports bikes fairly often.

hmmm 100 od miles you say hmmm youll need good thermals a good tent sleeping bag plenty of maps and a sat nav i assume you have your support crew??
plenty of food and somthing to cook it on and maybe a drop of whiskey for the long cold nights
dont forget to write a full ride report with lots of pic maybe post it on the adv forum they love tails of epic long trips like this

1038 miles in 24 hours on a BMW R1100RS. Only stopped when I fell asleep on the bike in darkest Poland. Won't be doing it again..

Last yead I did 286 miles from Edinburgh to North wales on a YBR125 that I had just bought.

Man up, it's only 100 miles....... thats a sunday ride! ,even when I was on my TS50 i'd do over 100 miles on a week end. (went to cardiff from North wales for BCF bowling for a start)

No problem. Just stop for a coffee if you get tired or need a warm up.
