Looking at getting a ram mount for using my new phone as a sat nav. I previously used to use my phone in a tank bag on tours but it used to over heat. The new phone is touch sensitive and so is no good behind the map viewer in the tank bag.

Anyway. I plan on getting the ball joint that goes into the hole of the steering stem.

Looking at the instructions can anyone confirm that you do not have to remove anything from the bike to fit this?

Bike is a ZX9R

I have a slightly diff Ram ball one that I put onto my fz1 steering nut,the nut you take off but it's a quick job your one I would of thought it would be a case of bolt off and ram bolt on.though I do not know about zx9r steering heads.

I've fitted 2 of these, one to a zx12r and one to a blackbird. The 12 just went straight in. The Blackbird needed the cover removing. From memory the 9 doesn't have a cover over the top so it should go straight in.

Have to say that whilst they are pretty good, especially in terms of positioning, no matter how tight the seam the mount still wobbles a bit. It's fine when you stop worrying about it though

Interesting - I made one out of an expanding wall bolt and a bit of metal and it's actually pretty steady.
