Survival Horror game, based in Space Stations/Giant ships.

IMO one of the best - not particularly 'survival' but it's not all out action. Has a great atmosphere.

Second one seems good so far!

What he said, the first one was a fairly decent game, the action is great once you get used to the controls the monsters are good the puzzle sections are fresh the story was good too all be it a bit predictable. The atmosphere was excellent genuinely scary at times.

Just done the train bit....they've really cranked this game up, without ruining what the original game was I feel!

Some of the rooms and environments are fantastic, it's made me jump twice now!

Aliens vs Predators used to do that to both me and my brother. No game before or since though.

You'd probably like it, it just fits the whole Sci-fi horror package together so well.

You have no HUD on sreen, all the ingame menus are projected in front of you, in-game, in real time, from your suit.

Also, the 'Aliens' are similar to zombies, i.e shoot them in the head to kill them.....except with a twist....you have to remove their limbs. Works really well, discouraging you from firing madly....which you'll want to do a fair bit!

Loved the first one and loving this one. Up to chapter 7 and trying to keep it in bite sized chunks to prolong it some. Probably my fave games of the last 10 years to be honest, playing havoc with my research project writing abilities...

If you like, also check out the two anime.

Deadspace: Downfall

Set just prior to the first game. Fantastic stuff.

and

Deadspace: Aftermath

Set during/just after the events of the second game from what I can work out. Shockingly bad CGI and nowhere near as good as the first anime, but story is decent enough.

Also there's the Dead Space Comics which I haven't read as of yet, but my g/f raves about.

All available from reputable, and less reputable sources...

Wink
