hi guys new to this!!!

just bought an import rg125 1994. Its not registered so need to MOT the thing this week. Does it need a number plate light? my last bike didnt but that was only an RSX100 lol

Yes it does, but all it specifys is that it must be 'a white light' no mention of the intensity.

If the tail light sits directly above the numberplate, drilling a small hole in the bottom of the taillight lens and filling the hole with a blob of epoxy resin (which sets clear) will often be sufficient (unless the MOT tester is an arsehole). Many older bikes and trailbikes just have a small hole in the bottom of the taillight lens for exactly this purpose.

i'll see how the taillight sits and see what i can do.

thanks for the tip though, might come in handy!!

another one is, when the guy before me crashed it, the brake light switch fell off, any idea how much one would sting me?

Back or front?

Back ones are pretty much universal, they cost 2.85 plus VAT from a wholesaler so expect to pay no more than a fiver for one. (a genuine honda one could cost something silly but it is unnecessary, the pattern ones gum up and stop working just as quickly)

Front ones can be different but I expect they are pretty similar on most hondas, maybe up to a tenner.

You would get either for a couple of quid from a breakers (they would probably GIVE you a back one if they are canny and want to gain a new customer)

you know the switch that sits just under the front break lever to show the brake lights...it ain't there! ANOTHER thing thats wrong with the bike is...the headlight bracket is bent and i don't want to fork out 100 squid for a new one.

Hopefully you can bend it back.

You should be able to find a new bracket from a breakers for the brake light for not too much. If not, you can get banjo bolts (the one's for the brake lines) that have a pressure sensor on. About £15 I think and worked fine on my zx9.

i found out there is a hole under the tail light. I managed to get the bracket for £85+ Vat. The break light switch is £25 but now i need to find out if the rear brake light is working lol

thanks for the advice btw

just new to bikes (properly) previously had an RXS 100 which was easy to take apart and fix...but this import is a nightmare!!!!
