Flower delivery services

The girlfriend wants some flowers for Valentines day. Rather than me going out and buying some, which would take effort, I thought I'd order some online and get them delivered to her house on the day.

Has anyone ever used any flower delivery services which are reliable? The flowers turning up on the 13th stuffed in some shit packaging wouldn't be too good for example.

I'll tell you what though, after having a quick browse, they're fucking expensive. £20+ for a basic bunch. Mental.

I always use Bunches.co.uk - the prices are okay and they've been very reliable, even during the snowy shit we had before xmas.

Avoid Flora2000, they delivered anniversary flowers a day late. Granted they were to Japan, but they had a local shop there yet still managed to screw it up.

+1 for Bunches. They're very good on price and quality. The only problem that their service suffers from is that they use The Royal Mail for their deliveries. That means that you may get them delivered when you want them delivered or you may get them delivered as and when the postie can be arsed to bring them.

It looks like Bunches have two delivery options -

The standard Royal Mail (free) which doesn't have a guaranteed date of delivery

or

FedEx Courier Delivery for £5.50 which is guaranteed to be delivered on the day of choice.

This is gonna be expensive. I just hope I at least get a hand job in the evening for it.

Next flowers have a shit website as do interflora. I've given up with the web and go into the shop near work and they deliver in their little van the same day.

If I were you I'd phone a florist local to where they are to be delivered, have a chat with them and pay over the phone,whether it be an Interflora or any other relay florist, most have their own prices as well as the set ones you see on websites.

They will guarantee delivery on the day, stay away from the likes of Next, M & S and others that have them made up in central warehouses and shipped by courier.

Ask them to do you a nice mixed valentines bouquet, you should get a decent one for about 20 - 30 quid and ask them to stick a red rose in the middle. Better value by far than just roses which double in price for the occasion.

I've used interflora a few times with no complaints. It's money for old rope though, ridiculous the prices really. But the service and product have been as promised.

Also be tempted to tell the g/f to wind her neck in, flowers are given, not requested.

If she said "I want flowers" i'd give her the address of a garden centre and the keys to an appropriate transportation medium.

Its always nice to get formal flowers, but if I *was* to receive flowers from an enthusiastic suitor, I'd be much happier with a bunch that he'd picked on the way up the road: one out of this garden, one out of that garden, and a bit of randomly attractive tree for some foliage: something that has evolved through a combination of enthusiasm, recklessness and straightforward care of thought whilst directly on the way to see me. Especially a composition of flowers I specifically like, e.g., "Oh, a yellow rose, I know she likes those even better than red ones, so I'll pick one of them from this cemetery rose bush, and take it to her."

I really would be more impressed with that, than with a gaudy display of red roses and velvet love hearts.

But I wouldn't turn down a nice bunch of red roses, either, obviously : a girl would be silly to discourage random or even Pavlovian acts of romanticism by our menfolk ... no matter how misguided or calculated for blowjobbery they might be.

if i've ever had to buy flowers, i tend to just phone up the florist closest to where the missus is - i.e nearest her work or home and get them to deliver them, not always cheapest but i find you get a good service for it as they're not interflora or some other big comapny.

Someone send me flowers so my other half will try harder , I dont get feck all. I want living plants though not dead cut ones. An ex once gave me a dead bunch from a petrol station he worked in that where free and a card still in its plastic. I sure can choose em.
