It started with me selling the 17 year olds short lived fling (dt125) and to be honest it was to buy a car i think more to do with the fact of a misses and that inital idea of yeah get a car and take her out while having the zip to run around on. so glad i couldnt get insured for anything sub 4k! as i would have always regretted not going for my full bike licence, managed to get the baby blad for a tidy sum and have enough for a2 over 3 days. i have booked it with surepass rider training plymouth

first day of traing today on a trusty ybr125 and all my worries have been softened my a excellent instructor, i practiced mod one and realise as long as i am calm and listen to exactly what is said i stand the best chance of passing it, only one ahh moment, i got a bit over excellous with the front brake and locked up although staying on the bike i did shit my pants for the fact that i didnt have bike cover didnt realise it wasnt included. my instructor picked up on the lack of obsevrations straight away but i feel after today they are become a second nature thankfully.

out on the road again i was lacking in observations and i have a tendancy to accelerate to quick and not take enough time at junctions and the like.

basically 2 years of bad habits have come to bite my ass. i am back in tomorrow and going to really push myself to correct them Smile

mod one and two is on monday so i cant afford to fuck up mod 1 or i lose the money for mod 2 Sad

got to say its knackering! of to bed i think, early start in the mroning

Good luck with the test next week. Never good tempting fate with both on the same day but provided you stay calm and get the speed traps theres no reason not to pass the mod 1.

Make sure you get rid of them bad habits though. If your instructor is anything like mine then he'll start of all nice but the closer you get to test day the stricter he becomes. By test day my instructor was effin and blinding down the earpiece at me telling me I'll fail if I do this on my test etc.

Glad your enjoying your training, and good luck with the test.

Just relax and take it easy.

I thought I failed mine (i did the old style test) when a drunk pedestrian walked out straight in front of me and I did an emergency stop and locked the front wheel slightly.

Spent the last 30 mins thinking 'f*ck', but I passed.

I was a real bag of nerves on my test, my instructor couldnt believe I passed my test.

Good luck fella!

Thank you both for the good luck wishes,
Day two went well had a couple of mark ups on the road ride and I knew I'd done them so just got to really make one last push on the bad habits!

In the training centre now freezing my b******d tits off!!! Hoping the test centre is not iced up or I'm f****d! And the test will be put on hold, make some serious brown babies at this moment in time

Good luck buddy, try to relax and enjoy it. On my mod 2, my test instructor crashed into me and knocked us both off lol i still passed though with no minors Smile i did have to ride back to the test center with a bent rear brake lever, no left rear indicator and slightly tweaked stearing.

There is a set route always, but a few of them. Usually 30 to 40 minutes depending on the traffic.

No jaspers tonight though thanks to the cold weather I've been gritting my teeth now I got a saw mouth bollocks!
So just a ride
Yeah mod 1 is in the controlled environment last about 10 mins the mod two out the road nothing challenging just observe the road and signs then 30 mins later you will have huge grin!

First night out and found it so weird how I stayed in speed limits 90% of the time :o I thinks its because I have nothing to prove, I know its quick and most friends are still on 125's or 250's at the most so plodding suits me just fine, weirdly it over heated at one point gauge was on half and a small amount of steam arose so myabe coolent change and a check over of the rad would be a good idea but as soon as I got up to 30 ish and held it there the gauge dropped, so happy days maybe the riding up until that point was to revvy and not enough progress. Plenty of people asking for a go on the back however all were in my mind sensibly declined. Torture as everyone had jaspers and there dipshit me with sore nashers could only have a drink!
