Hi guys.

I am looking for a bit of help with my bike. I have been getting a bit of a rattle coming from my clutch. It's most noticeable when the bike is cold. When the clutch lever is pulled in it completely disappears.

When accelerating reasonably hard from a standstill, I wouldn't say it slips, but there's a bit of a metallic noise that sounds like a chain. It sounds like the bike is rattling and it feels like it struggles a bit. It's very noticable in 1st. I don't believe it to be the drive chain. It feels like it's the clutch. It doesn't do the obvious reving like it's in neutral thing, so maybe it is just beginning to slip. It feels or sounds a bit like a metallic juddering. I feel like I need more revs than I should to pick up speed.

The engine sounds fine when the lever is pulled in while in neutral and the noise the clutch makes when the lever is out relates to the noise that the bike makes when accelerating hard in 1st.

I've been riding this bike every day for the past two years so I know something isn't right. I don't want to go out and blindly buy new clutch plates and find it's the clutch basket or something else.

I am not a stranger to the clutch case of my ZZR and I am confident enough to get in there and pull it apart. It's more of a case of me just not knowing what I'm looking for.
