3 points 60 quid fine old boy. Possibility of no points and driver awareness course, but is a less likely option.

The CBT isnt a lesson as such. Its more a basic training day to make sure you are capable of riding out on the roads so you dont kill yourself or others while you learn.

Back on topic though. You'll be getting the 3 points and fine or driver awareness course. You could argue that its a new limit change on the road etc but you'd probably lose on the fact that its down to you to make sure you see the road signs etc.

Jup, that's how I got mine.
Occupational hazard!
Twas just 'mean' in my case. A449 coming out of Stafford. They stuck a great big industrial park on M6 J12. It had always been a 50 limit from the town limit to the junction, then went NSL past the roundabout out to Penkridge.
They stuck a new roundabout on the Acton Tressle junction for the entrance to the new industrial estate, so dropped it to a 40.
What I didn't realise was they extended the 40 limit four hundred yards PAST the bloody motorway roundabout!
And of course they stuck a fucking enforcement camera in the hedge!
FAR too often, these bludy things are pure revenue generators!

If you fancy investing some time and pissing off the local Traffic Authority, investigate and challenge the Speed Limit Order that was required to change the limit.

It often turns out that these Orders are done in a half arsed manner that doesn't stand up to scrutiny. It's up to you whether you want to put the time and work in.

Also, usually it is 3 points + £60 fine or no points but £90 to go on the course.

Given the choice go for the £90 course option every time though. You'll save more than the extra £30 in insurance costs for the next 5 years. Even though points only last 3 years theres lots of insurance companies that will hold points against you for 5.

You want to find out? Then fight the charge, and demand the prosecution's evidence.

Honestly, if half the righteous anger that went into ranting blog posts was put into to fighting The Man, we'd be so free we could fly.

I consider myself as a royalist, but once the 'people' vote out the royal family this country is going to shit streak. As i argue with a lot of people the United Kingdom does NOT stand for what it used to. Any way this is gone off topic alittle bit Very Happy.

Insurance companies will put your premium up for 5 years. if you go for online quotes they will ask you for convictions within the last 5 years. Another opportunity to make money really.
I think you only get offered the course if you're just above the limit. I got caught doing 81 in a 70, and didn't get the course option.
