Hi
Too rich is safe while too lean risks engine damage. So best to get a selection of jets and start rich, working your way down. With the main jet you "adjust" it by changing to a different size of jet. The needle you can adjust the position to richen / lean the mixture while the idle fuel mixture can be adjusted with a knob.
What size to use I honestly do not know
