numbers aren't suppose to match together, they are both seperate.

As long as it matches the logbook, your fine

I've never had a frame or engine number checked during a MOT. In fact most prefer a copy of a previous MOT so they can copy the details off it.

Hi

On Yamahas the engine and frame numbers used to match. But not anymore, and even then they didn't put engine numbers on for some markets (ie, get a Japanese market older Yamaha and it will likely have no engine number).

All the best

Keith

My old cbr600f didn't have any engine numbers on the log book. It just said 'not known' in that section. I never thought to check if it had any stamped on the engine.
