Not anything above "normal" riding speeds so not really much above 100 I think.

Fastest I've taken a pillion - 130mph, very close friend who had pillioned with me lots of times and who wasn't uncomfortable

Fastest I've been a pillion - 160mph, complete assh0le friend, who did it to try and scare me. Got him back several weeks later when he pillioned with me filtering on the M25 at 90mph.

haha on a 'restricted' vfr nc24 you wont get that fast mate, i was thinking the same thing when i got my bike, i can rag it with people on the back and scare them... go on son.

Sadly, on small capacity bikes they dont take kindly to pillions. That said i have taken pillions to about a ton a few times, ive been pillion at over a ton many times, straight line its dull. As for corners, i prefer not to corner fast when im a pillion, it just worries me cos i have my own corner technique and entry speed, and you cant feel the tyre response etc from the bike so you always think they are gonna bin it.

But i have done about 150 i spose on the back, on a gs 1150, and if i recall i had no helmet as we were gonna jsut 'trundle' along this road. It was offroad on a deserted stretch of road, however there are muchos animals.

In another thread you said you wanted to buy a 400, an old cheap to insure one, hence i formulated naturally that it would be a vfr 400.

I was thinking of getting one, but couldnt be arsed with the V4 maintenance and pretending it was restricted.

I don't like going pillion at all so its how ever fast Jay went when he picked me up from down town after I had been drinking, I was a terrible pillion. Laughing

I've taken Nighteyes off the forum to 130 and taken Scouse to 140 to annoy Nighteyes! Twisted Evil

Absolutely love going pillion Very Happy ... thought only if I trust the rider!

With my brother, back in 1995 ... gosh such a long time ago ... went pillion on his gixxer 750 to go to a family wedding. Not sure at what speed we wet but it only took us about 20 minutes to do a journey that took about 45/50 minutes to all the other guests with the car!

Also going down to Mugello for bike racing, again when I was still back in Italy with him, we did the 400kms journey in about 2 hrs!

110 in the rain as a pillion down the M3 on the way to the BSB at Thruxton.

That was on the back of an R1, which was barely on tickover!

I hate being a pillion, far prefer to be in control.

Im not sure. It was on the back of an R6 and fast enough to make me realise my helmet didn't fit good enough. Once it got over 130 my helmet was pushed up onto a weird angle with front of it nearly into my face. Needless to say I couldn't and didn't see the clocks.

I've been a pillion on an R6 at 120mph and had a pillion up 100mph. Gotta agree I prefer to be in control Wink
