Hi, are there still big meets in matlock on sundays? I remember going as a kid and now I've got my first proper bike I can get there in under 2 hours so fancy a look around.

Cheers, Ben.

Myself and the_godfather rode there from Loughborough last year, then found an epic road from there to the cat and fiddle, and did the cat and fiddle road a bunch of times, then headed home via Newcastle which confused us nicely (Turns out there's two Newcastles).

I can never see the word Matlock without wanting to yell it in a Grampa Simpson voice...

I haven't been up to Matlock in years, would love to take my bike up there.

Struggle to park, mooch around for a bit looking at generic ten-a-penny sportsbikes, worry about being ticketed if you've been there an hour, then leave.

Not much to recommend it to be quite honest.

Sounds about right, I wouldn't go on a busy weekend, even though there will be more stuff to look at.
The area is worth a visit without actually going to Matlock though.

Most of these 'meeting places' are a bit pointless IMO.
But I appreciate many enjoy wandering along looking at other bikes - just don't see the point in riding any distance with the sole purpose to park there for an hour then ride home.

if you do go watch out for u turning cars/vans as they can't see anything out their window as i found out.

if you go off the beaten track there are lots of better places to visit and a lot quieter.
