Honda H100A Dipstick?

Hello, I just bought a 2 stroke 82 Honda H100A (only 7000 miles!). The problem is that I can't seem to find a way of checking the oil levels as there is no dipstick on the end of the oil cap and no other discernible way of checking the oil. Can someone tell me if I'm missing something or if I should be scouring the internet for a new dipstick?

I dont think it will have a dipstick , being a 2 stroke , you should just renew the gearbox oil at the times & with the amount your manual says. Neutral

The H100A has an oil guage in the oil filler cap on the tank for the 2stroke oil.

IIRC there is a bolt to take out from the side of the gearbox and you fill it through the small top cap until it flows from the bolt hole?

The S just has a window on the side panel so you can see the oil reservoir.

Think the gear box oil is just filled until it overflows from the level bolt hole.

The issue is the engine oil not the 2 stroke oil (sorry I should have been more specific). The bolt method sounds about right. Thanks for the help people!

get the haynes manual if not already, very handy to have.

Yes the gearbox oil level is checked with a bolt remove which overflows then trickles down when the oil is correct. This bolt is very close to the kick start lever/shaft

Hi there, I too had the same issue when I first got my H100A

The oil level checking is similar to a car's diff, with the bike standing dead upright, look for a small 10mm'ish bolt just infront of the kickstart in the casing, that's the oil overflow hole, if you remove the bolt & oil begins to run out it's all good, if not use the filler port to top it up till it dribbles out then replace the bolt & acording to my local workshop add an extra 75ml.

Sounds a bit strange, but I've been doing it for a year now & it hasn't blown up yet...
