Hello
recently bought a 1999 CBR600fx to do up over the winter months, front forks could do with a refurb and I have chance of a set off an f sport model.
There are slight differences in fork oil, spring length etc in haynes manual, will they fit my fx as they look the same?
thanks in advance

There were very few changes between the years, measure the diameter of the stancions of both forks and see if they are the same. If i were a gambling man I'd bet on them fitting.

I'd be more concerned about if your front wheel will still fit or if you would need the whole front end of the F sport. The wheels changed between your bike and the 01/02 models. Potentially the spindle or the alignment of the brake discs etc could have changed too although I doubt it. Go on a US stunters forum, they love the F sport (F4i) and someone will have swapped F4 and F4i forks over.

Youd be better off referbing your FX forks as they are fully adjustable, so theres nothing you would gain by swapping them.

The only reason I was thinking of using the f-sport forks is because a pair are available at a good price with new uprated springs, oil etc.
thanks for the replies
