Yet another beard thread.
I'm currently travelling and have decided to grow my beard to a decent length. I'm quarter of the way to a decent sized beard and wondered about ways to keep it in check. It's starting to look wild and i'm begining to look a bit like a hobo.
So any beardy blokes or even ladies around that could part some wisdom on keeping it looking a little more presentable rather than having people giving me money on the street because I looking like a tramp.

My girl likes me with a beard, the bigger the better, so I indulge her on occasion and let it go for a few weeks.
When it's getting too wild, I use plain old scissors to keep it in check. I take a line from my actual jawbone, and cut away from a set distance, whether there is loads of beard there or not, and try and get it 'even'. Also I tend to take more off the sides and under my chin, otherwise I end up looking like Grizzly Adams... Round my mouth I find it's best to feather it some, if you get too much of a hard line with your 'tache then it kinda looks cartoonified. So a bit of a juggling act between looking ok, and not having to eat it all the time.
Hope this helps! |
