I was given this link from Light The Fuse. There is a facebook page and a YouTube channel with rider information, safety advice and a link to a DVD.
I've viewed them and ordered the DVD for more info. I think this is a charity doing this work and - I think - it's well worth a look, even if you see only the free videos. ____________________ Jonny (Riding his Kawasaki ZX6R J1)

"Urban riding is all about keeping distance from the car infront." Guess he's never commuted in any reasonably packed "city". Might as well be in a car . Oh and a GSXR1000 will go faster than most cars can accelerate in-gear when it's in top which is geared for around 190 I think - I wouldn't worry about the low gears too much for HIS riding.
On the overtaking one "so the bike doesn't wheelie" .
More suitable advanced riding inner-monologue...
"I can see the road ahead is straight
I can see the road ahead is clear up until the vanishing point which is plenty of space
No obvious hazards at the side
Consider a wheelie -
Stand up wheelie, or give them a wave on the way past?"
For the record, what's being preached is pretty standard advanced riding stuff - get yourself a copy of 'Motorcycle Roadcraft" for more detail and considering trying out IAM, ROSPA or similar. |
