Valentines day present advice.

Sup guys.

I'm kind of seeing a girl at the moment, she has a boyfriend, we've agreed that nothing will happen until they've split up, but I do like her quite a bit and I am certain she feels the same way about me.

I've been told by my wingman(girl) that I should buy her something for Valentines, her boyfriend is off at uni and can't make it back, so chances are I will be seeing her on v.day so I guess I really should get her something.

Obviously with no commitment made from either of us yet, I don't want to spend a fortune, but I don't want to come across as a pikey either

Any suggestions on what to get will be much appreciated, also do I get a card and if so what kind of thing would be right to put in it.

I realise a lot of it depends on the girl and what she likes, but suck at this kind of thing so some kind of help will be great

Fair enough, perhaps I am setting myself up to fall flat on my face, trust me I have thought about it enough, I know the risk I am taking and I know the possible outcomes.

It's more or less the same as riding a motorbike. We know it will probably turn around and bite us in the end, but the reward is worth the risk.

It's is pretty unlikely to happen, this being BCF an'all, but can we keep this to the presents/cards topic from here on in, the above is my opinion on the situation with the girl and it is not going to change.

fair enough, given yours and hers current situation i would just go with a card mate, maybe some flowers or a small gift. deffinatly nothing more than that, good knows what could happen between her and her other half splitting up and you two getting together. i wouldnt start shedding money untill you are, just in case mate

as for what to put in the card.....i have no idea

this has just reminded me i have bought the misses nothing for valentines day. and its also my dads birthday tomorrow shit.

I'm not going to spend a lot don't worry. I am well aware of the fact that in the end this could lead nowhere, but given our current position I would say it feels kind of right to get her something small.

Take my advice and stay away mate, i got involved once, albeit on a heavier scale (she was married, no I'm not proud) and its messy business.

The girl will be telling you what you want to hear, i.e we're basically seperated, or he's a dickhead, he treats me bad, he's boring, its a long time coming, we are growing apart etc etc usual shite

Anyway...

He came back last week and I did everything I could do not piss him off, I am not intentionally trying to shit on him, I have nothing against him, I just wan't his girlfriend

I went out with her Friday before last and that Saturday, he came back on the Sunday for a week, I immediately stopped texting her when he was around because I knew it would cause issues. The thing is he was already suspicious that something was going on, he had heard my name a few too many times for comfort, yet when he picked her up from work and saw me, he didn't have the balls to come and say anything and it's not like I am a big, intimidating guy. I would have more respect for him if he had stood up for himself/her and told me to back off, but as it is he is a push over, even she will admit he has no spine.

As I have said I am not out to hurt him in any way but I wan't his girlfriend and she happens to like me too. If he's not around enough to keep her interested then that's his loss to be honest.

I have not done anything with her that I would consider her cheating, nothing further than a kiss on the cheek. I refuse to while she is with another man and she feels the same way on that, I would like to expect the same in return if she ever goes looking for another bloke, that she splits with me before anything happens. Obviously I can't be certain, but despite how she comes across in this thread, she is a trustworthy person. As I have said before I have known her for a while.

As to why she hasn't broken up with him yet? Guilt perhaps, Or maybe she wants to be certain she likes me enough, I don't know, but I don't have any other girls on the go at the moment, and this is doing me no harm so I am happy to go with the flow for the time being. I'm not going to get dragged along for ever, I'll give it another week or two and tell her it's decision time and if she decides to stay with him then that's life.

Besides I know he has got her something for valentines and I know she has got him something too. I guess it would be a little harsh to break up with him just before or just after Valentines day.

You might think I'm a bit of a dick for it, I probably would too, but I know I am doing what I can not to cunt the other guy off too badly.

I would never regret it. Still, all it would have taken was for him to come and have a quiet word, I didn't like her /that/ much at the time and as above I would have had a bit of respect for a man standing up for his relationship. I would have backed off.

I'm out with her on Saturday and possibly Sunday and/or Valentines. We shall see what happens.

I guess now this has gone from valentines presents to everything that I really should keep it updated, so I guess I'll bump this in a week or two and let you know how it's going
