hi folks about a month ago or maybe a little more now i put a big bore kit on my suzuki ts50x 1000mile later it seized again i knew it wasnt going to last long but i didnt think it would die that quick lol anyway not gonna bother fixing it again,

just a small question i can pick up a cheap 4stroke engine for relatively cheap 125cc just wondering if it would be much hassle to slot this in?

yeah im pretty sure the mounts wont line up but i dont mind that because i can make brackets and stuff like that its more the electrical side of things im worried about will the wires from the stator plug in to the original location on the ts50 or will i need to splice them up.

If you're going to get a bike as a donor, why don't you just do that up instead and not have the hassle of trying to make stuff fit a bike it wasn't designed for?

So waddya reckon your insurance company are gonna say, when you tell em you've just put a Honda 125 motor in your Suzuki 50?

Then my advice would be, either do what Blue says or find a TS100/125 lump, you've got a much better chance of making one of them fit.

But if you aren't going to tell your insurance company, you might as well try and cram in a CBX thou motor, because you won't be insured, whichever route you go down.

ok a little weird went out ths morning to go to work thought i was getting the bus but i thought i would try the bike and see what happens and wtf one kick and it started right up and idled no problem let it idle for 10 min and then revved it its running fine so i then decided t go to work in it its about 20mile to work the bike never missed a beat the whole way in no ticking or knocking or anything,

im not complaining but how can this be after it has just seized?

Sounds like you suffered a heat seizure probably caused by a lack of oil and or the mixture being all to fuck. Check your spark plug and see what it looks like. If its really shitty its your mixture.

yeah could be ive just started running the original oil pump again,

the only other thing i can think is maybe the engine doesnt like sitting at high revs for a long time it seized on the way home last night going up a particular hill the bike doesnt quite have the puff to get up this particular hill in top gear so i dropped it to 4th was going up the hill fine but i was sitting at slightly over 9k revs for maybe a minute or so.

Doesnt matter, it can be sitting at 14,000 revs if the porting allowed, just as long as it's being adequately cooled and lubricated it'll be fine. I'd recommend adding a small abount of oil to your petrol too just to be on the safe side. Yeah you'll get through plugs quicker but it's better than getting through a piston.

Your insurance won't let you change bikes?

Here is some advice, leave them and get a decent insurer. Mine is only £150 tpft a year on a 4t 125.

Buy a 125, swap the plate over so that it appears to a cursory ANPR or MID check to be insured. You're riding an uninsured bike anyway (I assume your insurer thinks it's still a 50), and might as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb.
