Find an appliance that has been PAT tested.
Peel PAT test sticker from appliance.
Apply PAT test sticker to your appliance.
Simples

this has already been done, But the hotel want to see the certificate too, its their way of keeping their resident DJ at £400 instead of me at £50 (mates wedding, hence the price)

I am an electrical engineer and did a lot of testing and inspection. Including PAT Testing.
Either they're screwing you, or they misunderstand the requirements.
A PAT Certificate from else where will NOT cover you anywhere else, the test certificates are for that item location.
So your gear needs to be registered on at each site it will be used at, on their equipment register (which details all items, their ID, location and test results).
However, the legal requirements of PAT are strange, because it's not needed. Companies have a legal obligation to their employees to provide electrical equipment that is safe to use, the easiest way of doing this at the moment is the Portable Appliance Testing, but they're free to use any method they see fit as long as their insurance is happy with it.
Their obligations do NOT extend to contractors, such as DJ's, so if it's only you using your equipment or YOUR employees and not the hotels, then there is no need for equipment to be tested before being used on site.
As said testing is usually down to less than £1 per item, but it's a waste of time for a spark to test a couple of items, you'll need quite a lot to get it cheap. |

So you're not covered by a portable appliance test if you take a portable piece of equipment and - err - move it somewhere?
Fist I've heard of that. How do people like me who work on several different sites a week ever get anything done? All our testing is done in the workshop but none of us work there.

The test covers that appliance in that or it's intended location.
The test certificate is unique to that site, not to the appliance.
However, people get mixed up that a PAT cert is a legal requirement, it's not. It's another daft health and safety law, that results in having to do the bore of yearly PAT testing.
Depending on the way the business organises it. You could have the equipment register showing the item allocated to certain places, or have a register showing the item allocated to a person if it's moved around site to site. At our place we have a few on our equipment register like that.
You're not really covered anyway, as the user is also required to visually inspect the appliance and the cables for physical damage if you're not doing that you're still not covered. There are many many many little rules with regards to PAT that just get ignored as the whole test should be, it's a load of bollocks.

The tester often doesn't know what your testing, and sometimes items fail on those kind of testers when they should pass, such as immersion heaters can fool them too.
You also do not need formal training to PAT test, but it must be done by a suitably competent and experienced electrician.
A PAT tester isn't needed, though handy, most sparks will have the test equipment needed.
