Facebook account got hacked!

Alright people, just logged onto facebook and asked me if I had logged on from any different devices as to the usual computer and phone - which I hadn't so said no this is not normal.

Then they said they reckon I have been in a 'phishing' scam and gave me a google map of where they signed in from and tried to change my password, it was in Italy, Rome.

Who the fuck would want to go onto my account and why!?

Question - What the fuck's a phishing scam, guessing it's something to do with them wanting information?

Oh and everythings all good for now, just made me change my password

Phishing is someone trying to get personal details through accessing your computer or network.

I suggest you change all your passwords for all internet sites.

Facebook does this as a security measure. It detects logins and attempted logins from other countries. So maybe someone typed their email address in wrong and tried to log into your account instead. Maybe someone has a bot running scanning for username and password combinations and guessed yours right.

People want your account as you have friend who trust you. They can then send them links and stuff and they'll trust them.
