Hi all, I am picking up a 2007 CB500 F tomorrow with the aim to sell it on as soon as possible.

Will I have to wait until the V5 gets delivered to me or can I sell it with just the new owners slip?

Thanks all.

Damon

you can fill out the log book as a dealer when you buy the bike that way they send off the small orange slip you keep the rest
but you still must fill out the v5 and send it off once youve sold it Thumbs Up

I bought a bike from somebody who had only the green slip, he gave me that and a hand-written receipt as detailed as possible, signed etc. Left my details with the guy I bought it off for him to send it off.

My friend also bought a bike with just the green slip, same again, he went to the DVLA after he hadn't received the V5 , and they just crossed out the other guy's name on the green slip and put his down, and they sent the V5 out to him...

Personally I wouldn't buy or sell a bike without the full V5.

There is also a section of the V5 that you need to fill out with the new keeper's details, both sign and date and send off.

So it's probably worth waiting for it to come through.

Wait for the V5, should be really quick

They did a reg transfer by post in 5 days this week, posted to them Thurs 3rd. docs etc on my doormat tues 8th, shocked to say the least.

Your V5 should be there within a week i imagine and saves you the hassle of tickets you didn't acquire on your own.
