Each time i get my insurance through i request my NCB but usually end up renewing my policy. But it still leaves me with my NCB slip saying how much no claims i have.

Now if i were to use the printed NCB on another policy even though technically its still running on the old policy is it illegal and how does it work.

All they ask is do i have any no claims and request proof.
I do have no claims on another policy and i have proof.

So how does it all work anyone here in the insurance industry who can explain?
Is my history all documented on the insurance database or something to prevent me from using my no clams on two separate policys?

The answer is that you can only use your no claims discount on one policy.

Quite what measures are in place to enforce this, who knows, but my insurance company at least claims to compare records with other insurance companies to spot inconsistencies.
