alright guys, got mod1 booked for the 21st with a days training on the 20th..
I've watched videos on youtube.. Premises187's i think.. And have an idea of what i'll be expected to do..but i'm just concerned about two things..
One that i'll misunderstand something the examiner says on the day and go round the cones the wrong way or something.. And second that i'll really have to push it on the swerve/emergency stop to get upto 31mph in second gear..

I know my instructor will probably cover everything on monday.. But does anyone have any advice?
Cheers.

If you are usureabout the manoeuvre, then ask the examiner to explain it again.

Try and go in to the turn at a reasonable speed, then pin the throttle on the exit of the corner.

the mod 1 is piss easy mate, just practice practice practice, spend about an hour constantly doing figures of 8 and swerve manouvers and you'll be golden

Good luck and this might help. You'll probably be shown all of this by the instructor but its handy to actually see it being done.

i'll be using a training school bike.. From my cbt i gathered it's called a 'superbyke' but other than that i don't know much about the bike and didn't spend much time experimenting on it's acceleration haha..

I'm sure i'll be able to get to grips with it on the sunday Thumbs Up

Shoulder checks. Don't forget them. Don't hit the cones, and the test isn't over till you've left the test area.

Edit that.

Story for ya to take on board. Guy I done mod 1 with failed his before he even got into the test area. He started the bike up, dumped the clutch, stalled and dropped the bike in the car park outside the test area. Failed him automatically before he started the actual test.

The test starts the moment your examiner briefs you and tells you to get suited up which will be in the building and it doesnt end until he's told you that you have passed and handed you the certificate. Until you get that slip of paper in your hands as conformation then you havent passed.

Yes. Treat it as if your on a public road. Always check things like mirrors, shoulder checks etc. Sounds silly because you know your on the only vehicle in the enclosure but the examiner tells you to ride as if you were on a public road.

The way it will go is: You'll be called into the briefing room to meet the examiner and be given a run down of what you will be doing and told to show him your Theory test pass and your licence. So DONT FORGET TO BRING THE PAPERWORK. He will then ask you to get suited up ready to go and take you out to the bike. When he asks you to bring the bike into the first coned off area of the test dont forget the checks then. The test will have started by then so he will be watching.

Now. It doesnt say anywhere that you have to ride the bike into the test enclosure and the chat after the above mentioned bloke failed included the fact that he could have pushed the bike into the first area of the test. Its easier to ride but entirely up to you.

A Superbyke RSR or RCC will make 50kph - the RCC is the same bike as my HN125-8, which did it OK.

A note of caution though: the DSA list the RSR as A2 but the RCC as A1.

SUPERBYKE RSR 125 = A2

If you're paying your training school to do an A2 test, they should be giving you an A2 bike. You don't want to pass Mod1 or worse Mod2 only to be handed an A1 joke license.

You will have to go round the bend as fast as you feel able to, then give it beans early and keep it pegged all the way up to the speed gate. Don't back off, don't change to 3rd, and don't look down at your speedo - it won't make you go faster, it'll just distract you.

The course is actually quite clear when you're on it, but do ask for clarification if you're unclear. And take your time, don't rush into anything.
