..... Duh!!! Doh!

Yup, that's you I'm talking about Eddie / Silver 0wl!!! You know who you are!!!!!

I don't suppose he's the first mind you, but thankfully the bike was in one piece and STILL THERE!!! Miracle!!! Praying Considering the garage was only broken into yesterday by layabout kids with nothing better to do during the school holidays!!!

So come on, who else is going to admit to doing silly things like this with their wheels?

The all time favourite has to be riding off with the disc lock on with assosciated comedy doubling over handlebars and smashing of brake calliper.

Oh yes! Embarassed

I left the ignition key in the seat lock on no less than three occasions! Twice I did it in the bike spaces in Kingston. It had a disk lock on it and a chain, but even so! Shocked

My other half left the keys in his bike ignition on the ferry. Not that it could have gone far, but if someone had taken them to teach him a lesson we'd still be crossing the channel back and forth now!
I keep leaving mine in my seat lock, walking about 3 foot away and remembering *phew*!

I left my keys in my bike once. Doh!

Went to get a Burger King in a shopping centre. After one bite of my burger I had that sinking feeling that I couldn't remember taking the key out. Quickly went to the bike and luckily it was still sitting there, key in the ignition, no lock etc etc. Never, never again.

Left the keys in the ignition while eating in KFC once, came out and they were still there, used to do it a lot, i suppose a way to get round it would be get a key chain, attach to belt.

But if you went to walk away you would pull bike over, so has anyone got any other suggestions?

I don't know if this is the same thing but, parked my bike up, locked the steering lock, opened petrol tank, closed petrol tank, removed key, well half of the key . the other was stuck in the lock. Shocked AND i had to be at work in half an hour.

Parked up in Victoria one morning, went to work, went to bike, went for key....nothing!

Absolutely shat myself, then noticed a note on the tank, a helpful soul (biker, of course) had seen the key and handed them into a dry cleaners. They wouldn't let me have the key until they saw I had the key and could unlock my disc lock. They did this because the biker told them to make sure I had it. He'd noticed that too!

That guy is a lifesaver and nice bloke to boot. Thumbs Up I was unlocking the bike a couple of days later and heard "you got your key then." It was him. We had a little, I give thanks and praise, and went our seperate ways.

A friend with a DT once left his keys in the bike while he went down the street to withdraw some money. I saw him, waved (I was on my bike) and then happened to park up next to his bike. Upon seeing the keys were in his bike, instead of watching over it as a friend should, I promptly got on, kick started it and revved the bollocks off it while burning around the carpark.

My mate obviously heard this (as planned) from down the steet (no baffles in the exhaust) and the next thing I saw was 21 stone of builder charging towards me yelling "Nooooo, get your hands of my Fucking bike!", fortunatly before he had the chance to hurl himself at me, he realized that it was his dear friend just trying to scare him (didn't think at the time that he wouldn't recognise me with the helmet etc on). Seeing this huge guy, complete with vest and gold coloured chain charging towards me like a train has to be one of the funniest things I have seen. It taught him not to leave his keys in the bike, something which I still oftern do (and boy do you feel stupid when returning to find them in the barrel). Never done it in my car oddly enough.

With the little fuckers that hang around our garage (we live in a block of flats with an underground carpark) who still, despite half decent door entry security, padlocked gate, etc., still managed to find their way in, I'm seriously thinking about getting ground anchors, plus a couple of grenades!!!! Once left the keys in the bike at Culloden visitors centre. Went off to explore and couldn't find the keys in my pocket. Went running back, warm weather, full bike gear and found them where I'd left them. Another biker walked past and made the comment "Saw the keys, though that's one trusting bugger Smile ".

Never done it again Very Happy

Yes, worth it. Bike can be carried out of garage into a transit no problems.

Fit ground/wall anchors in garage, PIR sensor in garage and garage lock, one of those T bar thingies, for up and over door. Oh, and use them! Very Happy

I remember one morning, being the first out the door going to work, when I opened our front door the keys were in it on the outside!!! My wife had left them there all night!

Sad

Problem is, if they were nicked, we would assume they were in the house somewhere and go to work, none the wiser. Then during the day our house could have been emptied!

Confused

Funnily enough I just got home 15 mins ago to discover I had left my front door unlocked. Confused Also, last week I left my car unlocked with the key sat on the drivers seat all night.

Most embarrassing thing I've done with my bike keys though, is to drop them down the inside of the fairings. Outside the bike shop. Doh! How many people have done that? Must be a few Wink
