i recently purchased, a set of wavy front disc brakes for my vfr 400 nc30, had them fitted by a professional bike mechanic at a local garage, and only a few week later, i find out that the discs are warped already, they're covered for 1 year warranty on ebay from the seller, but they want the original receipt with the discs, which i dont have due to me giving the package to the garage, they threw away the box etc, so now they're refusing to exchange them for me, is there anything i can do about it? i only have proof over paypal of the purchase, and feedback as the buyer and him as the seller, i don't see it very fair thought only had them on a few week and warped already, any ideas on what i can do guys?

PS sorry if this is in the wrong category, i was unsure where to post it

I think that your in the right area..

Don't know about ebay thing.. You have some rights when you use paypal.. as it is a receipt and you have some protection. (I think)

What happened to the other discs...? meaning why did you change them? worn or warped????? just wondering..

Did the garage say anything about why they warped?

edit

did the garage also change the pads?? I did look at the seller and he has got 3 bad feedbacks for Discs out of 5 bad feedbacks in a year.. lots of good feedback and a bit natural..

Sandys bike spares are a pretty well known bike spares shop, I am surprised they are being so gay about it.

https://www.sandybikespares.co.uk/

You would have proof of purchase over multiple areas (paypal, ebay receipt, emails of the same thing etcetc). Get a phone number and ring them if you haven't already.

Open up an eBay dispute, the items were not of the quality implied and the seller isn't fulfilling the conditions of the warranty, there is plenty of proof of purchase but check your email account, sometimes people email a copy of the invoice as well.

Hi

Presume these are the quick warp Kagizume disks.

Legally I think all you need is proof or purchase which can be a receipt, credit card bill, Paypal statement, etc.

All the best

Keith

Either that or I'm sure bcf and climb this thread to the top of the google ranks with 'Sandybikespares are shit' being the tag line Laughing Disgusting way to treat a customer demanding a receipt for an ebay purchase.

Two years ago I purchased two wavy rotors from Ebay for the front and a plain disc for the rear both were Kagizume make as the Triumph ones were silly priced (£750 for 3).
*** The Good ***
They are really cheap and looked good for a week. They brake and stop you fine and passed an MOT.
*** The Bad ***
They were advertised as stainless but after two weeks rusted quickly so looked like they were years old.
Within two Months the front discs warped slightly but they actually worn flat again after 6 Months of use. The rear disc bolts had to be filed shorter as the disc was slightly loose due to slight spec difference in thickness. I used Hammorite black on the rusty part of the disc.
*** The Ugly ***
My rear disc snapped last week in one place and cracked at the opposite side and had a 4mm gap once I took the bolts out. Luckily it did not fall in half.
The disc has not had much wear.
It looks like the disc was permanently stressed in manufacture causing it to be a time bomb. It is so stressed that I cannot manually close the 4mm gap again with brute force.
Bottom line I will never buy Kagizume discs again. Mine was dangerous and very poor quality.
