Laughing Mates first day commuting on my bike and has taken it into a kerb and smashed the front end up.
The main headlight area has gone, its smashed and snapped everywhere Laughing

I need new lights for the front, is it possible to fit twin dominator headlights?
The mounting brackets are standard on most 7" headlight bikes (bandit/hornet)
I need to get lights on it by the end of the week really... Is there a place to buy the brackets/headlights or is it a case of trying to find the 04 front lights?

i posted a picture of my '08 with ebay streetfighter lights up loads of times.
the brackets that came with the light were too big to fit the cbr forst so i cut up an old inner tube and wrapped around the forks for the brackets to bite onto. worked a treat and never came off!

I hope he's paying for the damage.

Sometimes we can all be too nice and it ends in tears!

Any headlight from the 04 - 07, 08? will fit straight on, some chinese copy i imagine would fit as they are replicas

None of the replica lights will fit, totally different mounts. Probably cheaper to get a universal kit anyways.

+1 for curbstomping the cunt and making him fix it with genuine original parts in the original bags.

I always lend my stuff, to be fair people also lend me stuff (G with his GSXR1000, had for a few months!!)

Hes paid for the damage, bought me the lights I wanted anyway, all the broken bits and paid me for the inconvenience Thumbs Up

update... got twin lights in post.

https://i51.tinypic.com/2nc1dzt.jpg

my idea was as the new lights have 1 3 pin connector..

cbr has 2 light outputs.. left one for "dip only" and right one for "dip and full."

Was going to wire the "dip and full" to the 3 pin connector with crimp/bullet things.

Surely, logically...that would work?

Also sidelight on new lights has 2 wires, 1 per bulb, was going to wire both together and connect to cbrs single wire.
(upon reflection...one wire will be earth??)

Surely... thats the most simple way?

Thanks for the help!

i'm not sure how the twin light works on the new replacement? Is it one full and one dip? Or are they both dip and both full?

Wiring would be easy but you don't want to fry the loom either. What was the original bulbs. I'm surprised the CBR stock light work by being both on dip and one is high. Surely they both go high beam while the dip switches off. Thats whats my mate's CBR did i'm sure.

Whats the original bulbs wattage on stock and aftermarket?

Both dip and both full..can use just one light, they are just bolted together.

I have those lights.

The twin ones have 2x hi/lo bulbs, twin filament...

So if you want to wire it up to work like the stock CBR's lights, you'll need to take the bulbs and wires out of the lights, and replace them with 1 high and 1 low beam bulb...

I hope that explains something Laughing

Very helpful, but im going to shy away from CBR style and have both full and both dipped at same time.

On the off chance you remember... any idea what wire is what (connector) Laughing

Hey

Working from this..
https://s574.photobucket.com/albums/ss182/hmmmnz1/Honda/?action=view¤t=cbr125r.jpg

Would I be correct in assuming the white was dip beam, blue was main beam and green is earth?
If I have then I can actually read a wiring diagram..

If no, please let me know before I butcher my CBR at lunch Laughing

Yep, absolutely right. So you're wanting to join the white to the white, the blue to the yellow, and the green to the black Thumbs Up
