Decided to go on a ride out into wales with a friend today seeing as it was just a little damp and cold, awesome morning going down the A49, was good to be able to get turns in rather than the straight run into work every morning.

Decided to head to dolgellau via A458 after havign something to eat at Raven truck stop near whitchurch.Started getting more confident with my cornering, the road was awesome some straight some nice corners.. massive attack - unfinished symphony came on the ipod, things couldnt be more perfect! The CRUNCH SCRAPE OUCH.... I have no idea what happened apart form pulling my sellf from out behind the armco and a wire fence but according to my mate...

Going round a nice upward banked corner, saw my exit started to put the power on but clipped the white lines and a catseye bike started skipping , I tried to recover it didnt lean enough to correct the new angle, side swiped the armco and off I came, slid down the road on my back and then hit the armco went over it and got stuck in a chicken wire fence!!!

In injuries to me MASSIVE swelling on my right arm, some grazing on my right forearm, probably from the armco and my left knee is massive after the side swipe!

The 100 mile ride home wasnt fun! Anyway some pics!

My old 07 ZX6R had a metal bracket that was on the frame so it could be the same on your 05(?)

Looks like you got off lightly given what you hit Karma

We all have to remember roads are still very green at the moment.

Indeed! My mate was massively confused when i stood up laughing and running/hobbling towards my bike to make sure she was ok. he thought I should have been k.o'd.

I offered many soothing words and stroking of tank on the way back to apologise to her.

Computer > cheers dude I shall take a look when my knee is able to bend properly.

Were you on the right or left side of the road? Just trying to work out whether you were over the white line or not as I can't see how you did it if you were on the left hand side of the road.

Street view really doesnt give the best view, the angles seem to be strange, maybe its a couple of pics from multiple angles all stuck together so looks super 2d/flat but essentially I started on the left had gone wide beforehand to see as far as i could through the corner, leaned in and made a stupid mistake considering the conditions to try and cut it a little and messed up on the whitelines and cats eyes... so it was my own stupidity and nothing else to blame.

Ah right, with you now, as like you say the angles just don't seem to be right on the street view pictures, wasn't going to have a go at you was just trying to work out what was what, as your red mark was on the right of the catseye, and just looking at it thinking, Shirley he wasn't silly enough to be on the wrong side of the road there.

To be fair you could have done that in the summer, even though the roads are still green and slippery I was out today and thought I was taking it easy on the way up, and I wasn't I glanced at my speedo and realised I was riding faster than I ever had in the summer on the road, and by the time I got to where I was going the tyres weren't even warm, on the way back a little slower, nice pace.

Really need to be careful, but it is a catch 22 you really want to ride the bike as the weather is reasonable to ride a bike for fun in, so you get the bike out and realise the roads are utter arse and you can't go fast, but you end up going fast because you have missed being out on the bike so much.

To be fair you could have done that in the summer

Really disappointing to see how much damage there is to your engine and bodywork considering you had crash bungs.

On the bright side, you have been very lucky surviving an impact with a crash barrier, could have been a lot worse.

Look at the bung in pic 2.....

Now think how much worse it would have been.

Bungs etc, do not stop damage.

Also it was a banked corner so the tail was higher up than the rest so that why it took most of the damage.

Woke up this morning and was pretty damn stiff, to then discover defrosted peas all over the show.. seems in my codiene induced high I didnt notice that the bag of frozen peas I used for icing my knee was open....

Now I need to get fairing repaired, replaced Sad

Erm...it's February. Confused

Road positioning all wrong and taking liberties with grip levels on a cold and damp day. Methinks you are lucky to not be in hospital.

Calm down out there eh chaps. Mr. Green Spring is on it's way..
