Hey,
So trying to ajust the headlights an as i turn the bolts they headlights drop down a little but then it clicks and they go back up...

They dont make it down far enough to be safe (dont quiet light the road) and are likely to blind oncomming traffic...

The only headlight i have found on flea bay is 150 bucks (are they having a laugh ?!?).

Whats the chances i could get this thing open and have a look see inside?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Best regards

-Jvr

How are you judging that it's aimed too high? The headlight on both bikes I've had seemed to be aimed quite high, but lit the road quite well, and has always passed it's MOT. They have a clever machine to test the headlight beam aim + pattern.

3.8m away from a flat wall,
lights should not go higher than the headlight on the bike (what i'v read in a number of places online).

It's not just that it's to high (their not exactly very bright) but they dont iluminate the ground (like they used to)...

Looks like i'm going to have to try get the unit open Neutral

They do move, just not far enough down.

Best regards

Then you have reached the end of the adjustment. That would point to something else being the problem and not the light.

Maybe a broken/bent bracket somewhere.
Maybe the bulb is loose/not fixed properly in its mounting.

Opening the unit would be the last thing I would do and I would doub't that it solve the issue.

Hi

I agree with iooi. However in addition is the headlight standard or have you fitted an HID kit?

With a lot of headlights it is very easy to have a bulb not seated quite right and land up with it pointing at the stars.

All the best

Keith
