hi i have a c90 engine i purchased together with another same engine, when i try put it into a gear the lever wont move whatsoever, unfortunately it never came with a kickstart lever so cant try kick it over

worse case it being seized but is there anything else worth checking over?

You should be able to take the dynamo cover off & turn it over with a socket to see if it is free & maybe work the gears doing so Neutral

is the gear lever clear? If its a bent lever you might find that its bent against something

I have a whole C90 if it helps...


they can be a bitch to put in and out of gear without the engine running due to the CV clutch mechanism not doing anything when it isn't spinning.

god knows how long its been sitting, just the other goes it gear ok. im not looking at it today as its snowing like hell in scotland

ill try it with the socket first if it turns then ill take it from there

decided to try it, the sprocket was a little stiff but after a few spins it moves good now

as for the engine this spis good as well, but still no gears?

looks like i'll have to take the clutch casing off and have a poke about to see if anythings bent etc

There's a spacer under the RHS cover, that looks the same either way. It isn't. If you put it in backwards you get no gears. I know this because I've done it twice in a row and then got very stroppy.
